The Ataloa Lodge Museum is part of Muskogee's Bacone College and offers one of the finest collections of American Indian artifacts and traditional art in the country. Visitors can see exhibits of art, pottery, clothing and other relics or shop for authentic, Native-American gifts.
Established in 1989, the Three Rivers Museum highlights the development of the region, which was one of the earliest areas west of the Mississippi to be settled. Housed in a renovated railroad depot, the museum is open Wednesday through Saturday, and includes a gift shop, local multi-ethnic exhibits and 1940s-era diesel switch engine, on which visitors can climb aboard.
The Five Civilized Tribes Museum features an extensive collection of traditional art by artists of the Cherokee, Chicksaw, Choctaw, Muscogee and Seminole tribes of East Oklahoma. Exhibits include permanent pieces, rotating works and art competitions. Tours for groups available by appointment.
The War Memorial Park in the Port of Muskogee features the USS Batfish, a WWII submarine, as well as an army tank, cannons, missiles and a Veterans tribute. The museum and Batfish is open year round, hours vary between winter and summer.
